What exactly does conveyancing mean?

Have received my divorce order, and one of the items noted is that my ex's "signature is dispensed with for the listing and / or conveyancing purposes regarding the sale of the matrimonial home" .

Can anyone tell me exactly what this means? I understand his signature is not required to list the property, but does conveyancing mean the actual sale of the house?

Conveyancing means transfering the title of the home to another person, and/or granting an encumberance such as a mortgage or a lien... at lease that is the definition at wikipedia...;)

So to answer your question, yes, conveyancing means "the actual sale of the house". :D
