Hi Everyone,
I haven't posted for quite some time, and when I did, most of my issues were regarding my husbands ex/stepchildren and their issues.
I have touched on my own situation, but because of my kids ages, 22 and 20, they were pretty limited.
Until now.
My oldest son lives with his dad. He has lived with each of us over the years back and forth. The last 2 years he has lived with Dad. He is 22. He used to work For his dad and his delivery business, until my EX went 4 months without paying him, and finally my son saw the light and has found other employment.
My youngest son, 20 yrs. Lives with me full time and pretty much always has. Because my boys were older, had part time jobs, and were happy, Ex and I have never gone to court, and very limited CS has been paid as EX has had very sporadic employment and I make a decent income, on top of my sons having jobs, it just never seemed worth it for me to press the issue. I saw firsthand Family Court with my current spouse and was in no hurry to repeat the process !
The problem is, the son that lives with me is now in college fulltime, not working at all, ( has a 91 % average) so I don't really want him to work. I have a decent income, but in no way can I afford to put this kid through school myself. I have given his Dad many chances to contribute, he promised to pay for his gas every week.....(big deal)....and he hasn't even done that. So far, to my knowledge, he has paid exactly 0.00 towards our sons education. And I obvioulsy can't wait for him to do what is right on his own.
So my question is..........is it too late for me to get CS for my son? I am very angry with myself for not doing something sooner. I should have looked out for my son's best interests.
