I have a question, and I hope not to arouse any anger in the men, because I really am not a bad person. My ex is supposed to give me his tax returns yearly, but the one time I asked, (4 years ago) I was told it was none of my effing business....so that shows a bit of how this will go I think.
I know he makes more money, I don't feel good about doing this, but I feel its time he helped his son a bit more, hes 10 now and wants to do a lot more extra curricular stuff, and I just can't afford everything he wants, not that he gets what he wants but you know what I mean I hope.

My question is, I am in NB, and he is in ON. How do I go about getting it raised (support) without a lawyer, because that isn't something I can afford personally..
Thanks so much in advance

Go here and click Child Support Variation Kit:

Family Law NB - Online resources for the public :: Self-Help Guides

This is for New Brunswick and will give you some great info and walk you through applying for a variation in child support. As far as financial disclosure goes, he is obligated to provide you with his 3 most recent returns/assessments. If he refuses the court will order it.

Also, on the familylawnb site, you will find a resources/links section. Read up on the Child Support Guidelines and the Divorce Act. One more thing, canlii.org should become your new best friend - search, read and learn and you'll find a large number of variation cases.

Good luck.
