Good evening all.

I've been lurking around on this website for a few weeks now reading what various individuals have to say about their specific cases - and others cases as well, and I must say, it has informed me tremendously on what others have gone through, and somewhat reaffirmed my thoughts that this system is broken, and needs a fixin....

But, i'm gonna put it out there anyway. My situation is not too unfamiliar then some. First time up before the Judge, when the SS issue was being addressed, Judge had some firm words for the ex (prove to me why you need so much, prove to me why you can't work, you're not going to get that much for that long ($500x5 years and so on). Fast forward 4 months, a new lawyer for me, again SS comes-up, I argue vehemently with my lawyer that entitlement needs to be established, and amount/length is not an automatic entitlement, and that some are paying less for children that what is being proposed that I pay for an adult, and my lawyer disregards everything, and after inputting salaries into DivorceMate, comes-up with an offer of $600x6 years. Needless to say i'm not happy, and I await the Judge's words on the matter. Guess what, the Judge is quite happy with that arrangement - no questions asked !!! Needless to say as is the ex is pleased as well. And then just to twist the knife in alittle more, my lawyer stands up in court to announce that he will ensure that my ex gets all the informtion required for the FRO enrollment.

So here's just a little background, information on my case. Married 5 years - together living together for 3 years prior to marrying. Ex in the time we were married made more then I for 4 of the 6 years, with the last three years almost being equal (few thousand difference)

So my question to my fellow payees/payors, worth filing a form 13/15(a), and going back before the Judge and arguing (something my lawyer didn't seem too interested in doing) ?

Would appreciate your feedback.

Thanks.

ps. could someone fill me in on what STBX means

If this is true, what numbers were used to come up with you giving her $7200/year?

Hi and thanks for your response.

Can I send you a PM with the figures used ?

Strange actually cause when I when to the Mysupportcalculator website last night, and entered the same figures used in the DivorceMate calculation, the figures from there weren't even close to the above - and what I ultimately ended-up paying.

And just another point. At the urging of the ex, my lawyer had to redo the figures based upon my eligiability of a year-end bonus (at the courthouse no less prior to the SC) which would be a percentage of my salary back to me - but would not increase my salary, just my yearly earnings. Another point I argued with my lawyer over.....

Sounds like you were not on top of your own case.

Its what you actually make that is important, not what your base salary happens to be.

Note: I moved these posts to a new thread so you would get relevant answers and not take over the other thread. Carry on...

No, I wasn't. Other factors came into play that didn't allow for that to happen. But I feel that this matter needs to be revisited. Not sure if that is a common occurrence, and if it is beneficial or not.

That I understand. But any idea why the disparity in the two programs ?
As I understand it, mysupportcalculator is just a derivative of the divorcemate one.

OP: STBX means "soon to be ex"
Op means "original poster" or "other party"
CP is Custodial Parent. NCP is Non Custodial Parent.
The list goes on: "imho" in my humble opinion"
