first time posting here is my situation wife left and left 3 children in my care 4th child left with mother but returned on first visit because she did not feel safe with mother temporary custudy granted to me for all 4 children ages 9 10 13 14. she has never worked in 10 year marrage in last 3 years i have averaged about 200 thousand a year but more then 50 percent in overtime. i do not have the ability to work the overtime now and my income will be reduced to 90 thousand. she has abused the children for years and is documented with recent cas involvement. my question is how will support be calculated for booth child suport for me and spousal suport for her. does the quality of care she provided have any influence on the outcome? and can she remain unemployed to avoid child support?

We're in the same boat, dude. Please read THIS thread.

Short answer, you'll likely go broke thanks to The System if she's nasty about this, but with 4 kids at home your SS obligation, if any, will be minimal.

The key is having income imputed to her - a MINIMUM of full-time minimum wage.

The answers are here, and all the info you need to do the calculations is contained in the SSAG, along with the revisions.

Cheers!

Gary

i am seeing what you mean about the lawyers dont know how long i can hold out but all i can do is try i have some questions about carrying 2 properties. if one goes to the bank after seperation how will this be considered in equalization?

how do you do this and keep legal cost to a minimum the ex is not interested in working anything out just seems to want to torment me and children and she has legal aid to back her up while i pay

There are limits to how much legal aid will pay for a case, just drag it out yourself, send lot's of letters and emails to the lawyer, ask for clarification of everything, run up her billing on nonsense.
