Thanks PH. It is still very overwhelming and could take a month to finish. I almost need to have a garage sale now to clear room for another pile.
I donated a ton of stuff before, during and still now after my move. I cannot tell you how much fun it is...and how liberating it is to just be able to downsize and clear out stuff you don't need or use. I'm one of those organizational freaks. I love things clean and pretty and in the right place. Its soooo awesome...enjoy it.
Then you can re-paint the rooms in the colors you choose and make a list of house projects you want to do. Once you get going on that stuff, you just get really joyful, feel free and it starts feeling more real.
The kids are adjusting very well. My daughter @ 4 1/2 was still in pull-ups and I have since managed to get her to go 12 out of 14 nights without an accident (no pull-up). My ex and I had agreed to transition her and I found out yesterday that she has not been doing it as it was too much work. sigh...
4 1/2 and in pull-ups is absolutely ridiculous....as I'm sure you well know. Just ignore what your ex does. She only needs to be trained at your house at bedtime and she'll get into a routine. Your ex is completely wrong in letting a child that age who doesn't have health reasons to still be using a pull-up at night.
It is a big step. I still have many steps to go, many emotional and psychological which I'm sure will take a long time.
Meh...I think you're fine already. Life is all about change. What you'll be dealing with is how to handle the negotiations with your ex which will NEVER go normally...as you already know. And you'll need to learn how to handle the fallout from that...it can be stressful. What I've done is learn to be more calm and just add it to my "glad I got away from that asshole" list. Its very nice to know that now when you have those incidents, you don't have the double displeasure to have to listen to or see your ex at the same time. Its funny. I used to have a lot more trouble letting go of things and I'd be mad for a lot longer.
Now, I find I have a flash of anger, then I shrug, add it to the list and I'm laughing 2 minutes later. Its a lot easier to let things go now...I have no reason to be unhappy about anything these days.
Now you get to date...and soon you can invite women over to your remodelled, clean house. Congrats again!!!
