ok. YOUR opinion is that her point was valid. HER opinion is, well, she thinks everything she says is valid..... but MY opinion is that it was irrelevant.

Yes - thats correct. It's MY opinion which I can back up with jurisprudence of Judicial thinking on similar circumstances on information which you provided.

It's a forum. Blink asked you a simple relevant question which in other words gender and the "Primary Caregiver presumption -- no longer applies. The other parent and yourself are basically coming to the litigation table equal. The child's present and future best interest is up for consideration.

In hindsight, It's no wonder you have spent thousands on legal fees already. From what you posted, I have a strong sense that your child might be best served by a sole custodial order -- and I hate to say it but to that of the other parent. Prove me wrong.

However, What I'm saying is if it's about respect given to those which earn it - How is defaming your child's other parent on the internet to be in your child's present and future best interest.

I don't know the details of the other parent's side but it's no parenting crime for them to having resort to a "Basement apt" at reduced rent maybe - on speculation to honour their parenting obligations to your child. I have no doubt that they have a different parenting style from your own - but how does that make your own plan of care for your child superior from theirs.

Further, its' not uncommon for shared parenting regimes to cost more to both parents as Mess suggested -- but the reward and opportunity to the child to come to know both their parents' equally does have its benefits over and above monetary at the end of the day.

You may not like the "Shared Parenting" reality check presented to you by the thread contributors on information which you provided but we do learn from each other around here. Wishing you the best.

no. the incomes are pretty similar.
i question his motives but i also wonder what questioning his motives will accomplish. maybe i'm just looking for a reason to hang on to her because i'm so scared to let her go. :(

i think what you are feeling is quite normal. There is a fear of the unknown. No matter what type of custody you work out you will still be her mommy, no one can take that from you and her. I think you have already have the answer to your own question about what questioning his motives will accomplish. All it does is drive you crazy. Unless he comes right out and tells you his motives all it is all speculation on your part and I can imagine you have a hundred different ideas of what he is thinking in your head right now.
