Ex didn't claim the tax benefits for a couple of $$$ activities and probably wont this year. But just because she cant organize receipts, does that mean tax benefits are off the table? Its at least $100 provincially, not sure federal benefit.

S7 is calculated after taking into account any tax benefits.
So if something costs $500 and she can get $50 back in a tax credit the cost that is split is $450.00
It's her choice to claim the credit or not. Can't fix stupid.
K thanks. Thats what I thought. We were surprised that the tax benefits didnt get claimed since she pays a higher % for s7 but I have a sneaky feeling its because of disorganization. I just wanted to make sure it didnt matter if it was claimed or not. The benefit is there and should come off the total.

Any tax benefits actually received.S7 is calculated after taking into account any tax benefits.
If she can show, through her ITR that she did not receive any benefit then other parent may argue that there is benefits that ought to have been claimed (and they shouldn't be obliged to subsidize that failure).
It would be prudent to act with caution, including to consider the amount of money and what damage may be done to the coparenting relationship.
