Reply---not submitted--what does this mean

Hello Everyone,
My ex served me with divorce papers last year. We replied. He never replied back. We have asked a few times for the reply. We are trying to do the NFP and a settlement offer.

What if they don't reply---what does that mean?
If they reply now ---well past the number of required days to reply---what does that mean for me if we do/do not go to court?

Thanks

You need to research to the procedure for filing documents.

There is an application, then a reply, then possibly an answer. At least, if memory serves...

If one or more of the steps is not followed, you need to investigate on what that means, and how it can affect the case.

From what I can gather - you are expecting an answer to your reply. One need not be filed - although I would encourage it myself.

One thing I have learned however, is that the process is very slow going - and the other side will be afforded many chances to finally start paying attention.

A Reply is not required.

The matter should have been set down for a case conference. If not, you will receive a Notice of Approaching Dismissal, at which time the parties can either act to move things along or the courts will dismiss the case.

thanks It is frustrating and a cost to me when my lawyer keeps asking for it and now they say they won't be doing it.

What was the point of it all!!!
