I know a guy who just found out he is not the father of his kid. I have no doubts that my kid is mine but was wondering what is the percentage of men falsely believing that they are the father of their kids weather the mother knew the truth or not? Statistics?

This subject has always intrigued me as well. I have two close male friends, and both have made comments that they believe that their last child with their spouses don't look anything like them (or their older siblings) and joke that they might not biologically be theirs.

I'm definitely not a geneticist, but when you have an older child with blond/white hair, blue eyes...how are the odds that the second child (both girls) have dark brown hair and brown eyes ?

In my case...Both of my boys look like their father (I was only the test tube to carry them in ! ha)...

The children could look like distant relatives!

In my case there is no question that my ex is the father of all our children, and we have a child with dark brown hair, brown eyes as well as a child with blue eyes and blond hair, (it gets a darker shade of blond as the child gets older).

There are two peoples genetics playing a part in the creation of offspring, and you may not know what part of a distant relative will show up.

Really I think you should find other ways to spend your time.

My 6 year old grandson's grandfather is black and his grandmother is white...my grandson has blue eyes and blond hair. Genetics do not only come down for either parent. My granddaughter looks just like me when I was a child, yet...her father looks like my ex husband. My sister had red hair and no one could figure out where it came from...lo and behold my grandmother was a natural redhead when she was young. As grandmother's always look old to us we only picked up on her white hair. My sister's children are 1/2 french (her husband) my sister was born in England (british and very fair. Her two children are like day and night...Paul has dark brown eyes and dark complexion, Jo-Ann has blue eyes and is fair skinned. All my boys execpt for one have B+ blood like mine...my oldest has AB- blood. When I went to the lab to ask how this could be, I was told that I carried a B- recessive gene and my son's father (A+) also carries an A- recessive gene
hence my son getting the rarest blood there is AB- .

Same here! My sons are so alike people exclaim over it, and both are the spitting image of their father.

I wonder if I'm really the mother.

I know I meant my post in jest, but having given it more thought, I think it must be one of the awfulest things, to find out that the child you love is not your own after all, or to have that doubt eating away. And it's so peculiar to one half of the population, barring unfortunate accidental hospital baby switching (and at least there's someone to sue in that situation).

So I hope I didn't offend anyone.
