Hi all,
my ex is trying to deduct two cars that he had before we got married even though both those cars went to the wreckers years before we split. He's trying to deduct 25k worth of assets that are no longer there. Can he?

Nope. Accounting rules apply there. They are a write off and are no longer assets. Unless there is a documented debt that still exists from them... A judge would not be impressed with this fancy accounting.
