Went to trial in November 2010 and a final order was issued on Nov 26, 2010.
The order contained just 8 points.
The judge reviewed the order with us in court prior to us leaving.
He went over it point by point and was very clear about his decision and why things were decided in this manner.
My issue is that when I recieved the final version that was typed by the court (I assume based on the judges notes) there was a typo in one of the points.
The judge explained to us that I was to pay spousal support for no more than 10 years. However, it was to be REVIEWED in 5 years.
The typed copy says that it will be paid for 10 years max and RENEWED in 5 years.
The copy was "certified" on the 6th of December and I did not get it until the 9th or 10th.
I wrote a letter to the judge and sent it our prior to the end of December pointing out the typo.
I have not heard back as of yet.
What else can I or should I be doing?
I don't have a copy of the judges hand written endorsement but I guess I could get it...
That one word could have a huge impact on things in another 5 years and I would rather not wait until then to get things cleared up.
