Meeting Groups?

Are there any meetings groups in Ottawa or even the Kingston area where people can get together and do social things ... 9 holes of golf, coffee, listening to jazz, having dinner, movies ... ?

Sax: in respond to your post, do you mean a social group where they meet and discuss separation/divorce issues or a non formal group where they go out and do different activities and not sit in a room in a circle discussing issues or both?
- if you call the Family Services in your area which do group therapy sessions, they usually have a list of different support groups in your area. Some groups I attended was non formal where we met first making sure no one was in crisis, and then we did different activities such as going bowling, short trips to visit touristic places such as a two hour boat cruise, going to art tours, concerts, having turn doing pot luck dinners etc... costing very little as far as costs. We also involved the children with our activities but NOT for the therapy sessions of course~

Just be careful if you're not looking to date - the meetups can be meat markets sometimes. If you just want no-pressure social contact, that dynamic can certainly detract.

Meetup.com has opportunities for everything from walking groups to theatre groups, book clubs and running clubs and yes, dating groups. Not all groups are geared towards dating so you should be able to find something, they have tonnes of divorce support groups as well.
