My STBX and I are still in the matrimonial home (on my lawyers advice) and has just dropped a check over 10K for her lawyers fees on a shared line of credit secured on the house. I am wondering what the ramifications of this are going forward. Am I going to be on the hook for paying this once things are settled or are these things accounted for once thing have been settled.

I dunno honestly.
but sounds like something to be concerned about, doesn't it?

Maybe draft a 10K cheques on same account and put it away for something similar in your benefit. Then it's a wash in the long run at least... lol.

First of all, close ALL joint accounts. Separate your finances ASAP before she pulls any more tricks like this one. As for the line of credit, you'll be using the balance on the date of separation, which is before her withdrawal. So it will work itself out in the equalization. However, you definitely want to close or freeze the line of credit so she can't take any more out. No sense leaving her any ability to make things worse.

Please could someone do something about this Enforceserve nuisance....

I agree with Rioe on this one. separtae all the finances as best you can. idealyy all debts will be split as well as asstes but niether party is responsible for the others legal fees. Unfortunately it was used as a means to getb the retainer taken care of and if a loan was needed it should have been separate. Bring this to your lawyers attention. Niether of you are allowed to Encumber the estate needlessly. Not sure if that is the right terminology but you get the idea.
