The ink on the settlement agreement hasn't even dried yet and the ex is asking to vary the agreement. Right now she is really pushing me hard to voluntarily agree. Like I said in my previous post, I gave up all my share of networth to get her to sign off. Now I have the house but the debts and mortgage bring my networth to negative value. She wants another 6-7K which I can't seem to understand why. My lawyer gave her a round $5K on top of all favours. I feel like she is really doing this so I can't focus on anything else. She really wants to destroy me altogether.

Last time she consented to custody but took few months to change her mind. This agreement is not even filed with the court yet as the lawyers are still tweaking few numbers here and there but this tweaking was already incorporated in the minutes without need for further consenting.

Of course, my first question is can she refuse to file this agreement in the court? I understand, that would be done by lawyers but still, can she say that she changed her mind?

Next question is, how about the lien on the home by Legal Aid. What if her share is less than the lien? Can Legaid Aid people refuse to remove the lien when I transfer the title to my name?

Finally, I have been very cooperative throughout this process while she did everything to delay the financial settlement. Can she go to the court and seek her costs? I know legal aid requires that but should I be concerned about it?

Thank you for your thoughts.

If she signed it and it was properly witnessed, the agreement is valid even if hasn't been filed just yet.

The lein only extends to her interest in the home, so the lein wouldn't survive the title transfer I pretty sure.

You were cooperative, she delayed, why would she get awarded costs? Most likely, you will end up making an agreement and costs will be dismissed.
