Hi, i am looking for help and info on divorcing someone who is a non resident of Canada.
Everywehere I look they wnat lots of cash money to help someone.
And I feel they are trying to milk us for all we got.

I am a resident of ottawa, we got married in BC. He lives in The Netherlands, I am currently in ottawa, and want to get the process rolling since I am way in love with someone else, and would like to immigrate to Belgium or The Netherlands with him.

We would like our daughter to be in europe, and so are trying to get her nationality set up.
I will also like to live in Europe, but need to have this divorce done up so I can prove I am with my new partner for the needed amount of time to be considered together.

We have a good relationship me and the ex...
so we can work child care and support and custody things out by ourselves.

looking for advice

we dont need or want to go to court.

what is the best way to work this out?
any ideas?

Thanks for any imput

Canada is part of the Hague Convention but so does the nation where your spouse is to need to be part of the same conventions. Since the Hague is in the netherlans, they should be. I had go begin a divorce via this agreement. I tried to get US divofce with my Canadian spouse and I had to jump through some legal hoops to get him served only to be told not all parts ot the order will be enforced.

I did this on my own as well. I tried to get a lawyer but most are not familiar with the process. My first husband took off to Canada to avoid paying US support and we went through the process then.

HCCH | Authorities go see canada on this list and then the netherlands. You will have to make some calls.
