Hello,
This is in regards to the healthy and successful future of two children. I appreciate any advice on how to proceed.
I am thinking about a hiring private investigator. My ex has never divulged all his income information as I have previously settled out of court. Our first appearance last month he did not want to submit his financial disclosure even though the law clerk said he is obligated to do so.
Ex is a CFO of one of the largest insurance companies in the world and he has recently claimed he lost his job. Our case conference is scheduled in a week. How do I find out if it’s true?.... and does it matter? I’m still receiving support payments through FRO.

Ex has also put his house up for sale mid June. (just shy of a million $$$)
I believe he may be a flight risk to Brazil (his current wife’s home country) as such I was thinking about asking the courts for a lump sum settlement to cover extraordinary costs and support. Will a judge make this order if he no longer has a job?

We have a 16 year old son with 2 years of high school left and aspirations of post-secondary education. He also has a diagnosis of subluxation of the spinal cord that has been very expensive for me to cover.
We also have an 18 year old with learning disabilities (doctor assessment) requiring individualized education and special equipment and at least 2 more years to complete his high school diploma.

I earn less than 30K a year.
I’ve had the children full-time for the past 14 years since our separation/divorce.
The past 10 years he has never allowed the children to call his home or visit. (current wife will not allow it.)
Thanks,
Geenie

Why the hell do you need a private investigator for this? Go google the company he works for. A CFO being let go would be something that would be reported somewhere.

Get yourself a lawyer and see what your options are in regards to freezing some of his assets, or having a lien put on the sale of his home until proper financial disclosure is made. (if you believe him to be a flight risk).

You need to speak with an experienced family law attorney, you won't find one of these forums.

If he is a senior officer in one of the biggest insurance companies in the world, you should easily be able to find if he works there by looking on the internet, or just by making a phone call to the company and asking to speak with him.

Why in the world would you dramatize paying a private investigator to do what you easily can do with even the slightest bit of resourcefulness??? Some times I f'n scratch my head.
