So the ex texts the other day saying we need to look at monthly amount as she made significantly less
Been paying the same for 4 years. Neither asking the other for yearly t4
She made apparently $15k less meaning I pay $110 more or so a month (not a BIG deal, but still)
My question...IF One went to court. Would she have to explain why the drastic drop? (She is a sick bird). I think I can account for 5-8k in loss due to circumstances at her work (regarding part time and lieu pay)
What bug me is she lives at home for free. So if she just didn't feel like working. No biggie right?? Lives for free.
Granted. Not too bright. Make 15k less equates to $1400 more support payment lol. Makes zero sense

What might not be "too bright" is to spend more than $1200 in legal and court fees to save an increase of $100 month in child support.

Never mind. Ur missing the point

nope I am not missing the point. Her income has gone down due to illness. That is legitimate reason for her income to go down, especially if she is under a doctors care for the illness.

So has your income increased a lot and that is why you are hesitant to disclose you updated income?

You sound such a caring person I wonder why your relationship did not survive. You say she is not too bright. Well that must be true look who she ended up be connected to. you!

The rules are there to protect the child. CS is for the child and you passing judgement on Mom is not helping your child. Pay up for your child.

Shocking. Women to the rescue. Probably don't even read things fully. Just cast your judgement like people calling cops murderers thinking they know all the facts

And no. My income hasn't gone up, and she told the judge she would keep working and not go "off" and I agreed to keep her on my benefits to HELP her. As she couldn't afford otherwise until he's full time. Yes, I'm evil

What is your question?

If you haven't been exchanging income info for the past four years, then you're both out of order. Give each other your most recent (2013) tax returns and then calculate from there.

If she has health problems, sick, then it's reasonable that her income would go down. And it's irrelevant where she lives.

I think I get it just fine. You think she was deliberately under employed by about seven thousand a year. You're mad because she's found a way to live free and you haven't. You don't want to support your ex living free at her parents. I think at this point you should be just happy she has a job.

Perhaps only the women have commented because the men don't agree with you but don't want to say anything. I certainly don't see them flocking to post their support of you.

If I were you, I'd be tickled pink that she has a free place to live. She now makes 15k less than you, if you add the costs of rental, she could claim an even greater need for support from you.

Looking at your numbers, you'll lose big time by going to court over this. You have to calculate the costs VS possible outcome. From what I see, I don't believe court would be in your best interest at this point.

Try to settle this out of court if possible, meet her half way?

You must be paying offset support. You do not offset is not a guarantee? It is a starting point, so if she is sick and you want to take this to court for underemployment, she can claim she needs MORE than offset to make ends meet, regardless of if she lives for free or not.

If for whatever reason you decided to move in your a family member and live for free would you pay more? Or if she decided to move out and pay rent, would you pay more? I expect the answer would be no, thus why should you pay less because she lives for free?

CS is based on income, she has a legit reason for making less, but she is at least still working. Is her income at least minimum wage?

Thanks stripes. YA that's basically it, just sucks that "a strong and independent" women lives at home making 55k a year , partly Cuz of "habits" if u will. (A big reason we're apart. Fyi. NOT because I'm heartless)
So I was curious if she made less because (I lived her and she's done this) didn't feel like goo in
And , no U don't get it.. I said I can account for say 7k do to her not getting a % of pay. The rest maybe just not going in. Went on trips. State side to shop Ect Ect
I was basically just asking. Trust me. NO intentions of court again lol

The 7k? Because we were married and she told me.
Part time get 24% ontop of wage. In a full time contract. No longer getting it. So I'm spitballing at that figure

I wish full time. Then she wouldn't lose money for being off sick
And no. It's a contract. So changes from time to time. Off on. Off on.
