In Ontario, does or is child support calculated off of your income tax? Or can it be adjusted to your income tax return?

Also, would you have to file a motion to get support and arrears adjusted to the proper amount on an order. If so, what kind of proof would be considered? (Tax returns, school, etc..)

Thanks!

Line 150, total income, is the starting point for computing the monthly amount of child support for one or both parties. Sometimes there are adjustments depending on what went into line 150.

Child support is not tax deductible to the payor, they pay income tax on it, and the recipient declares it on their income, but it is not taxed for them.

Income tax returns and receipts for daycare, tuition, etc would be good evidence.
