court disaster

Please, don't consider this harsh, but as adults we NEED to take ownership of our situaton. If you choose to go to court self--rep, then you make sure you are well prepared and have ZERO expectations for the other party to submit ANYTHING on your behalf. It is not their responsibility to plead your case!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make.
PERIOD."

You should not be shocked. You clearly chose to partner yourself with this woman, and you chose to self-rep, and you chose not to submit information you wanted the courts to have, blaming them, (the other counsel) for your lack of knowledge or irresponsibility, what part of this situation is anyones fault but your own. Sorry, I am not shocked at the results.[/FONT]

By Rioe: " I hear you! Sometimes, though, I figure after honesty and reliability, if I can get a couple of things in common, that'll do"

The reliability factor can be established/verified in a relatively short time. The honesty part - that's what I'm not so sure about.

I have tried to imagine different scenarios re ppl I may meet. My ex's wife met him whilst he had just been arrested, wasn't bothering to see his son at all, soon filed (fraudulently) for bankruptcy (all while they were spending like mad, company credit cards etc from our former business together), then there was the Family Court Matter (which lasted over 3 years and eventually saw the support he was paying go up astronimically).. All that plus more and with the Bankruptcy matter ongoing (several court dates) and he remains undischarged. The list is endless. But she married him. If I met someone that had even *one* of these issues going on, I'd run. He's in mammoth arrears w/Fro and has 2 other costs orders against him, one of which will be Fro enforced.

It just baffles me that anyone could be THAT stupid. Oh wait, am I mistaken? Is that LOVE? No. It's complete stupidity. There is some comfort though in 2 idiots being 'together' as theoretically it spares 2 other individuals from crossing paths with them as (potential) new partners :/
