children witness abuse

yes they have i agree but it is hard not to worry but the change in the kids since ex left has been dramatic and positive so that gives me hope

If the CAS has no concerns as long as the spouse doesn't return then there are 2 answers
1. your spouse is the one they are worried about
2. the connflict between both of you is of concern.

err on the side of number two and asssume they are looking for you to mess up as well.

In your case asking for OCL involvement is probably a good idea. The OCL will speak with CAS and their records and interviews will become part of the OCL investigation. They will also talk to school, daycare, doctors, counsellors and other relavant peopl in the children's lives (esp if there are live-in relatives).

Just remember that the OCL is looking out for the kids best interest and that they will be trying to figure out what the true situation is. Best to be honest with them

Good luck

well spouse is 8 hours away so she just cant show up also i have asked for the childrens lawyer but dont know how that works

slughead10, your few paragraphs are dear to my heart, your doing the right thing trying to save your kids and keep them out of harms way, from my experience its not going to be easy for you.

my advice is find a mens support group for yourself - learn and listen to what makes sense, C/Services and Children's lawyers dont work for you - they have their own agenda. see if anyone in the mens group can recommend a lawyer they trust !

i ran from domestic violence with my 3 children in 2007, though i thought my journey to save my children was horrific here in calgary the mens support group yawned at my storey cause its fairly common here - you can read and learn from it here : http://www.wheretheylie.com
