Child support and extra expenses

If in court papers someone asks the judge for child support according to the guidelines is that all they recieve? Or when child support is ordered does that automatically mean there is extra expenses to be paid as well?
Do judges usually award child support plus these expenses or is it based on incomes?
Just trying to figure out how these "extra expenses" are determined.

we use the chart as well. He also pays 1/2 of school tuition, daycare and main sports like hockey and ballet. Summer camps are part of the 50% shared exp too.
