Checking for house ownership

Hi, my STBX has a house with her sister from a long time ago. How do I go about finding out if she still has her name on the house? City hall?

Yes, I would be entitled to a portion of the gains from the house value during our marriage (for the Financial Statements).

So, where can I get this info? Trying to avoid to use the lawyers to do this research!!!

Try the Land Registry Office for the area that the house is in. You will probably have to go there in person and pay a fee for the information. (A title search)

But why don't you just ask your STBX about it?

It would be information on her financial statement, so it's up to her to disclose it. If she doesnt disclose it, then ask what happened to it?

You can do title searches online at all kinds of places. Here's a company I have used many times:

No one should have to justify requiring their ex to obey the Family Law Act. If you want to apply "but really" to your own situation, you have that right.
