I have not recieved a confirmation from my ex's lawyer stating if they will be there for Case Conference tomorrow. Should I have recieved it or shall I go to the Family Law counter prior to the conference to see if indeed they filed the confirmation with the court?

Go just in case and call the clerk at the court who can help you. The clerk I am working with said if they do not confirm two days before they can cancel it but she said sometimes they confirrm at the last moment and the judge is ok with that.

I realized that case conferences are really meant to be mediation. They ought to just call it that.

I think someone here should start a petition here to change and mandate mediation and access rules to make it less combative, less costly and less stressful.

I am most definitely going to be there, that was never in question. I was merely wondering because I have not heard from them, will they be there?!!! My assumption is that they will, but it just goes to show me the lack of disrespect that they have not only been showing me but for the justice proceedings as a whole of which I plan on making note of to the court.

When is your case conf?
I wanted to know the same thing if you can bring up past attempts to settle and things like not showing up?

It is supposed to be a form of contempt. To me it is defying a legal document. I supposed people who do not comply feel they are above the law.

I have to say this, in the last week all this legal stuff has lead me to two great home business ideas. I just checked with a lady I know in Ont and she said the one is a great idea. The other is a growing need.. That way I can go back to the court and say for support I need this temporarily, the support to set up this business and take it from there. To be better self supporting.
