My ex put her address on hospital files for childs cancer treatment. I once put mine and ex exploded. They dont send anything by mail. They call me FIRST for child's appointment reminder or anything else. School has my address as priority. Hospital cant have 2 addresses.

Is it important whose address is on file cuz our SA doesnt specify it.

The should have both addresses on file. It's not like joint custody was invented last week and the hospitals still have a lot of old forms to use up.

Hospital is full of crap.

There isn't a Hospital Information System in our country at any hospital that doesn't allow for multiple addresses on a client (patient) profile.

Just found out that they DO mail appointments and stuff to my ex. They have my address too but they use hers as main.

Will this play any role when we go to court? It hasn't intefered with my knowledge of future appointment so far.

No material impact usually means it does not matter.

Do you not have a separation agreement?

Yes we do but it doesnt specify whose address should be where

I CAN put my address as main but she will change it when she takes the child to hospital so where does it lead if we keep changing the address. Im going to leave it alone if it wont have impact in court

Hospital can have note inserted on their screen that gives specific instructions for both parents to be notified. Request it and if they refuse politely ask to speak to a supervisor and explain your situation. I'm sure they will do their best to address the situation as I'm sure you two aren't the only "parents at war" out there.

They do provide me with all important and relevenent info I just assumed since her address is main, she may try label herself as primary something when we get to court

Hey she can try all she wants. It's what's in the court order that counts. Chill. Do you have your daughter on your Alberta Health Care card under dependent? Do you have your daughter on any other health benefit plan?

She has everything under my name like AHCC, last name, birth cert.

Btw, social worker phoned her and told her that she should have direct contact with me because of the childs medical condition, she counter how mean I am but the worker said keep it child focused and her sister goes like to me "none of my business, try and contact her" so I said to her sister if we do communicate we have to make a plan and main points include EMAIL ONLY and phone only in case of emergency.

Will see what happens

Iceberg: I just happened on some info that you might be interested in. I got it off a forum that seems to be for guys in Alberta.

There is a group that meets every Tuesday evening from 7 - 9 at the Bonnie Doon Shopping Centre, upstairs in the offices, that you might want to talk to:

Equitable Child Maintenance and Access Society.

Check it out!

Thanks for the link. I explored their website a bit. This part of a paragraph sounds scary:eek:

Courts dispense Law, not Justice – never forget this crucial difference! And yes, if you are a male, the ugly statistical reality is that the Family Courts are horribly biased to the point of being dysfunctional- the institutional failure of family courts comes as a shock to all who enter the system!

And in it's q&a category it says

16. I have heard so much from my friends about gender bias in the courts. How true is it?
*
We have yet to hear of a family law lawyer who disagrees with the national perception that courts are extremely biased against men. The real question is how much.
*
As the judiciary, government, and academia will not address this issue for obvious reasons pertaining to each institution, it is left to individual researchers to conduct analysis. The short answer is that there is not a single issue in family law which is statistically in favour of the male. As the table[2] below illustrates, a female generally has a 4:1 advantage over the male with the ratio being as high as 18:1 on specific issues such as custody. Moreover, when cost penalties are imposed, they are considerably harsher for the male; and when cost relief is provided, it is provided overwhelmingly in favour of the female. Without going into detail, the outcome is worse at lower court levels.
*

In fact, statistical analysis suggests gender stereotyping is now so prevalent that even having a male lawyer reduces a client's chances by 18%.
*
These implications have far-reaching consequences. Whereas only about 7% of divorce cases actually go to court, the other 93% are bargained within the "shadow of the law".

You see I havent been to court yet but what I have read on this forum ODF the things are not as bad as this website claims for men

courts are bad for people who act like idiots, male or female.

If you end up in court, stick to facts and dont try to work against the rules, work with them. Not saying you would, but there is a certain poster on here who kept trying to get around the rules and rulings in court and keeps getting slapped with costs to try and teach them a lesson but they dont get it, they just keep racking up the costs against them. Rememeber you can be your own best friend or your own worst enemy when it comes to court.

Yikes - I just got their name off a local website. Sorry about that. Might be a sour grapes group. Old resourceful would be pleased I gave you that name. oops. It had appeared to me to be a men's support group. If it's a women-bashing group then I certainly don't endorse it or anything like it. Sorry again. Good for you for checking it out first hand.
