Does anyone have any idea what are the costs involved.?

At the Registry office and does a Lawyer need be involved. I don't believe that a "Land Transfer fee" is applied.

It recently cost me around $900. It was done via a lawyer.

several years ago, my ex had ours processed at the land registry office - the fee was minimal, they just required the seperation document describing the division of assets, and stating that my name was to be taken off title.

I understand at the Land registry office, the fee is $60.00

So for the most part you can do this on your own, but if one spouse mistrusts
the other then a Lawyer's fee to do this could be $600 - $1000.00.

Couples can draft their own Separation Agreement as well. By doing all this they can save literally thousands of dollars...believe me, I know now.!
