My question. Father (Canadian citizen) lives in the USA for work. I have never traveled outside of Canada with my children, but I purchased the first set of passports 5 yrs ago so they an go visit him in the USA. They expire this year. In order for the kids to continue see there Dad, they need there passports renewed ($177) Doesn't seem like a lot, but every penny is counted. Also, my oldest starts university this fall and every cent is going towards preparation for her to go school out of town. I always thought, that since their father decided to move out of country, shouldn't it be his responsibility to take care of the passports? If he didn't move, this would never have become an issue. I was thinking of sharing the costs though......but I doubt he would go for it.
