I went out on a date last night with a woman who separated last year, has a separation agreement in place, equal shared physical custody of 2 young kids.

Both parents are middle earning professionals, he makes more than her. They both have lawyers that they controlled and used only a little.

They split their assets evenly, agreed to no SS or CS between them and they think that is simple and fair. She can take care of herself and her kids, and the same for him. They are both friends still.

    It was refreshing.

Wouldn't it be nice if that was the norm instead of the exception? )

Well, I sometimes think it is the loud minority that don't separate reasonably. And the norm may be reasonable.

        Perhaps not.
