  • Do I have to file a Request for Information?

Or can I just send it?

Is it reasonable information you are requesting? If yes then send an initial request to the other party. If they refuse, file a form 20.

You just send it to the other party/their counsel. If they do not hand over said requested documents/information within the allowed timeline, then you file a motion for disclosure (and ask for costs)and I believe file the request for information letter as an exhibit to an affidavit in support of your motion.

I think that’s how it works?
