Default Case conference in Dec..

Agreed my partner would pay his ex $500 plus 776 for 21 year old sometimes student.

Goes back to court in 3 weeks, to do pension and selling of house..I think this is when everything gets figured out going forward.

His ex was also granted exclusive possession of the house...she says her plan is to buy him has been appraised.

In anyones experience, how quickly does this have to happen..if she stalls, which she will, how long will the court allow for her to stall?

She is very angry at the two year mark and has stalled...including insisting on him getting his pension info, then failing to provide her own..resulting in another court date

Default Years

Divorce issues can take between a year (must be separated for at least a year) or 8 years. Delays are easy to do in the divorce industry.

Nothing happens at a case conference, unless both parties agree.. so don't expect much. Then move onto the next steps 3 months later or whenever there is availability. If one party is angry and wants to stall, it can stall for a long time.

If the other is vindictive, you can expect delays to occur for years. Family Court is a joke and judges are so overloaded with cases that they are all too eager to grant adjournments, extensions, or postponements to another date 6 months down the road. All you get told us “Go away and try to work it out yourselves”.

The other can delay because they want to cause grief to the other. If there are kids involved, delay is caused to hang onto the kids for themselves as long as possible.
