cashcow; Ask at the library about their "read alongs". They put together a story book, also called an 'easy reader', with a CD. Your child reads along with the narrator while reading the book.
They should have these available in french and english. If you don't speak french, you can read along with your child. At the very least you can have them available at your house so that they can continue improving and learning while they are with you.
Who knows, may be you will pick up some french while you are helping them!
I over heard an adult learning to speak french and the instructor was using the children's series, 'Babar', to teach the adult. These story books should be available written in french. You could also ask at your library if its possible to check out the same story in french and english so you can follow along.
