  • How do you deal with the stress?

How does/has everyone dealt with the stress of seperation. Has been 4 months, another 6 weeks before mediation happens. Although it was my choice to seperate, I am stressed over the situation. I stress over the unknowns of where I will be living, what will happen financially, with the custody of the kids, how I will move on and be ok on the other side.

I am now getting sick from the stress. Been told by the doctor that I must reduce my stress levels. How have others gotten through the stress and unknowns in one piece?

Exercise is always a great stress reducer, I'm told.

And focus on your reasons for separating, too. Not dwelling on them, but reminding yourself what you are getting rid of in your life. When I get full of doubts, I tell myself that no matter what happens, it's still better than being lied to by the person I'm supposed to be able to trust most.

Don't stress about where you will be living; go to open houses for fun, go apartment hunting, dream about decorating the way you like, watch househunting shows instead.

          Painting, redecorating, and loud music.

I repainted the basement staircase last night while drinking my sangria and listening to Pink (she's the best at breaking up songs).

Our house has never looked this great. Which is a good thing, if we are putting it on the market.

            lol...

            exercise is the deal.
I was a fat slob during my break-up, and started strength-training.

I guess I'm still a fat slob - but I'm a strong fat slob now, and feel way better.

              I am still not dealing with the stress very well (I am sure that is obvious with some of my posts)...what I have done so far that is working is;
              -art classes at the AGO
-going out with friends and family more than usual
-the days I don't have my kids I usually run/escape and avoid home as this is where I miss them so much...doesn't feel right being there without them
              -gardening
              -alcohol
              -thumb twiddling
              -reading

Did anyone say chronic masturbation yet?

Try it while crying...kills two birds at once.

Shopping is therapeutic for me. I focus on reorganizing my house and it makes me feel like life is more orderly and I am in control.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this one (and NOT in THAT way, fellas!)

I guess that it shall remain one of those Sweet Mysteries of Life to me....

The follow-on "reminds me of when the ex was here" comment was killer though - HaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAH!

                              Cheers!
