  • Calculating Child Support - RPP Pension + RRSP Deductions from Line 150

Hello everyone, I have a couple of questions regarding calculating child support amounts based on Line 150.

    1) Can the private company pension (Registered Pension Plan -RPP) be deducted from Line 150 if it's money that is directly contributed into a pension plan that is never seen in my bank account?(Pre-tax deductions)

    2) I receive an annual bonus that is contributed directly into an RRSP plan(pre tax deductions as well). Can that amount be deducted from my total line 150 income?

    Thank you in advance.

    The unfortunate answer is no.

You cannot deduct the amount you put into an RRSP or any other pension plan from the amount of income used to calculate child support.
