  • Hearing vs Conference

Last week the lawyer said he would request a settlement conference and if the ex refused he would push for a hearing.

I didn’t have time to ask detailed questions. Is a hearing for the motion? For instance request a hearing to argue the motion?

He said they had to have at least one conference and technically there has been one. The ex refuses to provide disclosure, has delayed the proceedings over a year and continues to make unilateral decisions without knowledge or agreement.

Second question, if they go to a hearing, can costs be requested?

my guess is he is going to have a hearing to argue a motion to push for the trial.

you can ask for cost for every time you go to court and it is your ex's fault
