Child support and insurance

Did anyone request child support to be reenforced by life insurance? If so, how did you request it/word it?

In our case it was due to the fact that we had life insurance before separation.
Both have a portion to cover off the obligation if anything happens to the other. Even if you are the custodial parent if something happens to you the other parent will need some assistance too as they will then be the only custodial parent and support for the child.
