  • Refusing Case Conference Date

We had a case conference booked in August for Nov 21st and I just found out yesterday that her lawyer "can't make it". We heard nothing from them for weeks and weeks. This is an obvious delay tactic and makes our justice system look pathetic

Meanwhile my wages are being garnished and have been for 2 MONTHS.

My lawyer seems to think there is nothing I can do but just reschedule, how is this possible??? How long can they do this??

Your lawyer could make an issue about it- but then you're paying your lawyer to make an issue about it. And if opposing counsel has a conflict they could not have known about in August...then it's likely to be ruled a legitimate conflict. And now you've paid your lawyer to make a fuss about nothing. Make sure your claim is retroactive in your pleadings.
