she has a 13 year old son, he wants to live with his dad, she has sole custody of the boys, what is envolved in giving the dad custody of the 13 year old boy, it seems it is not as easy as just signing a paper.both parents are in agreement to let the child live with dad, the child wants to live with dad.dad pays mom support, mom gets CTC for both boys, obviously she waould have to contact the authorties to change the CTC, and change support payments around, any help? thanks

    mislead,

If custody of the child was court order, the parties would have to bring forth a consent order to vary the current custody regime. The court may not grant it as incidents of custody are determined on the best interest of the child test. Along with this variance, the parties could vary the child support order if there is one, and the court will subsequently notify the FRO office of same.

CCRA people should be notified immediately of the change of custody situation of the child when it occurs.
