  • Opposing counsel does not respond

My lawyer has sent opposing counsel 2 letters and has left 2 messages in regards to not receiving the financials from my ex.

Opposing counsel does not respond. Is this normal? Are they not obligated to respond whether it be to say the financials are still being worked on, or they cannot get a hold of my ex, or something?

Cripes. That probably just cost you about $400. It averages about 100/response in most cases....

If the other side does not respond in a timely fashion, then when it goes to a case conference they get frowned at. Or bitch slapped. Depends on whether the judge is in a good mood or not.

Yes it probably did, but that didn't answer my question.
Don't they have to respond? And what is considered a timely fashion.

Ignoring stuff is a common occurrence in this game. You soon learn that those lawyer's letters are mostly a waste of money.
