  • equalization payment and property division

What are the possible remedies to deal with property division ( shares in a family company) when one person does not want to cooperate in determining their value and ability to liquate / access them is very limited - no real market. If the company is in Quebec and I live in Ontario does that complicate things even more? are the rules different for litigation? can the ex refuse to cooperate in the litigation and I then have to pay for it all to determine whether an equaliztion payment is owed to me which is very likely.

    family company

    Your family or hers?

If hers, did you do anything directly for the company? Unpaid work or active involvement?

If it is her company, butt out. Chase her income, but not her source of making it.

That the wrongest thing about Family Law
