Yet you continue to argue on a public web forum populated with lunatics like myself trying to drive social change. Write a letter to your MP about it maybe? Start a church group to address the issue? Write to the pope? Not much is going to get done on this forum for your cause... other than to have to debate a topic you are passionate about with someone named "SillySocks32" and "LostMyMind81".

Don't expect anyone to respect your "outspoken" positions... Especially on the internet. I have come to realize that you need to have very thick skin to contribute to forums like these.

Yo, I came home from work the other day
I was tired, I just wanted to sit back in my big chair
And play a little a Xbox
      You know, relax a little..

People need to separate entertainment from reality. Let us not forget what Judas Priest had to go through, the PRMC, Tipper Gore and Dee Snider's testimony...

We are treading on "censorship" in many of these debates about what should be content in a video game. We tread on the fundamental principals of free speech if we over react and blame "the media", "music", etc... The best way to demonstrate your dislike for a product that doesn't agree with your principals is to simply not support and buy that product.

      Good Luck!

Censorship and freedom of speech should not encroach on basic human principles. There comes a point where any civilized society must draw a line in the sand or else we face chaos and extinction.

At what point do we say enough is enough? When there are 3 year olds 'twerking' at the diner table trying to imitate Mylie Cyrus? Oh how cute is that? ... real ghetto mentality there.

It's one thing to not let others impose their values on us - but personal freedom of choice should not include the promotion of hate, gratuitous violence, destruction of property, mistreatment or the degradation of others.

Products or media entertainment that glorify sadistic/inhumane practices should be illegal from the get-go.

Let the sickos of this world make believe all they want in their minds ... don't feed the beast.

            Ahh...Friday night.

Time to relax, and play some Call of Duty (same as viewing child porn, you know), and encroach on other's basic human principles, while updating my misogynistic online blog.

            lol.

              Different levels huh.

They're in the same place called prison.
Yeah, um, no they're not. You can't put all those people in the same prison. Bad would happen. Prisons have different levels.

This thread makes me want to go home and brutally murder some orcs.

I would argue that that's the parents fault for letting their children idolize celebrities and sports figures as "heros" when in reality many of them live hedonistic, superficial lives.

Too many of us teach our children to worship shallow, materialistic nonsense while they ignore the truly brave people of the world.

Ask most kids who won the nobel peace prize this year or last year, they probably wouldn't know (although more of them MIGHT know one of this year's winners because she was a young girl and she got a lot of publicity).

I'm never that surprised when some celebrity is acting like a fool or some sports figure is dragging his unconscious wife out of an elevator. Most of them are un or under educated idiots who are revered for superficial crap that has zero to do with who they are as a person. I wasn't the least bit surprised at the Bill Cosby or Michael Jackson accusations....fits the bill of the lifestyles they lead. Having too much power for doing absolutely nothing truly productive to humanity leads to hedonistic tendencies where your boundaries and respect for others becomes very blurred.

I am, however, surprised at parents who allow their children to worship these people. I literally laugh out loud when anyone refers to a celebrity or a sports star as a "hero" unless they're referring to them actually doing humanitarian work.

Idols with clay feet and all that.

OK, I see where this is going but I think you are connecting dots that likely aren't there. Again, those two boys are in jail because a violent action taken against a real person. Not due to violence in a video game.

I am unaware of a link, or study that links, violent games to violent porn to violent crime. Using two unstable young persons as your example when there are millions of people who play the games is hardly ample evidence. Yes, what those boys did was heinous. But to suggest that the game caused it likely is turning a blind eye to the likely mental and emotional issues those children had.

It was the same argument back in the 90's with Marilyn Manson, and Judas Priest, Alice Cooper and Black Sabbath before them. People were suggesting that others did violent acts because of the music. When in reality, those people were just disturbed and happened to listen to the music.

I plan on playing Super Mario Bros. with my children aged 5-8, and then turn myself into the authorities for encouraging violence against mushrooms. After all, today, Super Mario Bros., tomorrow - GTA5. Super Mario Bros. is just a gateway video game to the hard stuff.

                              Seems a slippery slope...

Is it like "Just Dance" (that's what we play).
                              Do you dance to:
                              ABBA
"Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)"

What are you teaching your daughter? lol.
