If you’ve been married and in Canada all this time and she’s been earning income from her own country, that income would need to be reported. It would be reported as world income to Canada Revenue Agency. You may end up owing them money.

Agreed. This kind of conduct is often a good way to "shoot yourself in the foot" indeed.

Furthermore, adding the complexity of a complaint on top of it all won't make things easier to end... It will only make it take longer.

I agree what you said and fully understand the consequence. Fortunately for me, we have financially separated more than one year ago and live as a couple in the eye of CRA for only very short time, six months only. Even if I had to pay back, it wouldn't be big.
