More women are working now than in precious decades and they are earning higher salaries. Women comprised 46.8% of U.S. workers in 2009, according to the U.S. Department of Labor and that number is expected to rise to 46.9% in 2018.

You do realize that given expected birth and population growth rates, that tenth of a percent probably works out to being about an extra 500,000 people, which is a not a small number.
