  • father not paying any child support or section 7

question, My son's dad and I did a separation agreement fall 2017, he is now in non payment behind over $7000.00. He makes over 120K a yr. I am salary $65 K

I have my lawyer now doing up papers to make in an order.
This will cost me over $3000. will the judge consider him to have to pay for part of the legal fee's?

No it wouldnt be eligible for costs.

If you have an agreement, you dont need a lawyer. You can do it yourself at the courthouse. You just file with FRO (if you are in Ontario) and its done.

The only problem is getting financial disclosure. You will need to request it every year and if he refuses, you will have to get a court to intervene.

Lawyers suck up your money. If its straightforward disclosure and update you could self rep.
