  • Is there a time limit on spousal support?

I was married for 15 years, I've been divorced for 10 years. My ex and I signed a separation agreement 11 years ago. There wasn't any spousal support for either party in the agreement. I started a job with better pay. Can my ex try to get spousal support now that my income is higher? I now make about $20,000 more than he does.

No. In the ten years since you divorced you could have gotten training, taken classes, mentored with someone, put in time for experience etc. They would have no reason for asking. And why would you be telling them your income anyway?

Because we have kids and exchange financial information for child support purposes.

He could try to ask for spousal but he won’t win. Don’t worry about it.

There is indeed a time limit. A search on this site will answer your question with the supporting detail. You are way past the time limit.
