Hey Everyone - I'm hoping someone has some insight on this.
Legal fees incurred for the purposes of obtaining CS are deductible on line 221 of your tax return. It's a weird spot, but that's where it goes.
According to the Child Support Guidelines, line 221 is used to reduce your income for the purpose of calculating child support.
Has anyone ever used this or know of someone who used deduction to reduce their income ? (please assume the deduction is legit - I'm not asking for a debate on whether or not the deduction should be claimed).
