  • Pension (OMERS) + division + common law

Pension division + common law of 17 years
See talk re: Pension division. OMERS pension in question.
I have no pension to speak of.
Lawyer is saying no to pension division. I need more info to go to him with.
    I am in Ontario.

I think you need another lawyer. I interpret something different. It appears the omers pension can be divided with respect to common law relationships.

    see the OMERS handbook.

17 year CL relationship and contributions to such a pension plan; thats a lot of coin on the line. Get yourself another lawyer and fast!

Supreme court ruling on OMERS pension?

...of some sort in the last year or two regarding Omers (police services in specific) common law and division? Anyone know anything about this. Where can I go to research said ruling?
Are there any actuaries out there that I could hire and consult with?
