Default Christmas Acceas

I've been dealing with a lot of manipulations from the ex on our 6yo but truly the topper had to be "if you don't come to my house for Christmas I won't like you anymore." WTH??? Certainly, a new all time low. Next step on my list of to-do's is get a counsellor for the child!

What does the agreement/court order provide for christmas parenting time? Do you even have an agreement/order?

If there is an order, follow the terms of the order. If there is no order, you and the ex should figure out a way to divide christmas. Like whoever gets Christmas morning doesn't get christmas dinner. Split up the day so the kids can enjoy christmas at both houses.

And at 6. The kid doesn't get a choice of whether or not they are going.

Can I be honest, the 'If you don't come to my house for Christmas I won't like you anymore" doesn't sound like a sentance any adult would say. It sounds more like a worry that the child has.

What is your access schedule for Christmas?

I'm glad you're getting the child into counseling. Either way, if it was said or its a concern it needs to be addressed.
