    No great loss.

eta: I might pm you about the d7000... I could be easily convinced to upgrade myself as an early Christmas present.

I bought my used for $600(body only), in very good shape.

My D200 is a larger heavier pro style camera, and I prefer how it fits in my hand and balances, but the D7000 sensor is just so much better. My D200 is great for landscapes, but the D7000 is so good indoors.

Seems I'm always swimming against the current.

        Get a Canon

I had a Nikon D70s. It was a very good camera.

My ex was into Nikons. Really, it wouldn't take much convincing for me to switch to, say, Canon or Olympus. I just need a bit of persuasion.
