for apple you can just shut off location services in the privacy setting

actually go into location services and shut off something called "significant locations"

In terms of going through a phone, you have a question of privacy vs motive/what does it show.

If there is a situation where the iPhone data can show violations of a court order or how certain aspects are harmful to a child then it is fair game. For example, if a parent uncovers text messaging that promote parental alienation then it would be fair game.

I do recall a case in the past where a father uncovered text messages from his ex and her friend where they were basically admitting that they lied to CAS and tried setting him up.

In my personal setting, my daughter has been taught that I am trying to spy on everyone and I am trying to put spyware/viruses and tracking stalking her mom..so the electronic evidence on that phone is a gold mine
