Default Is the post office considered a third party?

Hi,

I have been reading up on the steps to file for the actual divorce. One thing mentioned is that the application must be delivered to the other spouse by a third party. Would sending the application in the mail be valid?

My spouse is living out of the country and there really isn't any other way that I can get the application to her. It would go by registered mail to have proof that she was served.

Thanks.

I used a "cheap" lawyer to serve my ex through the mail. Whoever does the service has to swear an affadavit, and it can't be you. of course the challenge with this type of service is that it assumes the other party will co-operate.

Not sure which country your spouse is in, but most places have process servers.
